Definition and Properties of Polyether Polyols

Definition: Polyether polyols are synthesized by the addition polymerization reaction of initiators (compounds containing active hydrogen groups) with epoxyethane (EO), epoxypropane (PO), epoxybutane (BO), etc. in the presence of catalysts. It is an oligomer with an ether bond (- R-O-R -) in the main chain and more than 2 hydroxyl groups (- OH) in the end or side groups.
Properties: Polyether polyols are colorless to brown viscous liquids at room temperature, usually soluble in aromatic hydrocarbons, halogenated hydrocarbons, alcohols, ketones, and have hygroscopicity. Its boiling point is above 200 ℃, flash point is above 230 ° F, refractive index is n20/D1.466, and vapor pressure vapor density is greater than 1 (vsair).
