The synthesis of polyether polyols is mainly based on ring opening polymerization reactions. The specific process includes:
Raw material preparation: Organic oxides (such as propylene oxide, ethylene oxide, etc.) and furan cyclic compounds are used as reactants, while initiators (such as polyols such as glycerol, propylene glycol, ethylene glycol, or amine compounds such as diethylamine and diethylenetriamine) and catalysts (such as anionic, cationic, or metal complex catalysts) are required.
Pre treatment: Pre mix the starter and catalyst to generate metal hydrocarbon oxides, and add them to the reaction vessel after vacuum dehydration.
Ring opening polymerization: Under the action of a catalyst, the initiator and epoxide undergo ring opening polymerization reaction to generate polyether polyols. This reaction is exothermic and requires timely removal of the reaction heat and introduction of dry nitrogen gas to prevent oxidation.
Post treatment: After the reaction is completed, neutralization, adsorption, dehydration, filtration, distillation and other post-treatment processes are carried out to obtain pure polyether polyol products.
